After watching the fight, it was clear that Usyk didn’t take the challenge seriously. At 6’5” and 258 lbs , Verhoeven was solid and should have been seen as a real threat. I thought the stoppage was disgraceful. Verhoeven may have been down, but he was far from out, and he definitely made it to the bell closing the 11th round. The 12th round would have told the story, but we were ALL deprived of seeing a proper ending.
Despite being a massive Usyk fan this stoppage was absolute nonsense. Gained a huge amount of respect for Rico. Fought like a lion and deserved to fight to completion.
1 hour of rubbish and now at last the fight will start. I hope Usyk kicks him into the middle of next year.
Is Usyk just “keeping his eye in”. He should win this one handed.
BS fight. If he doesn’t wanna be seen as a true heavyweight champion anymore and just make money, he should better drop the belts!
