Frank Martin Signs Multi-Year Promotional Deal With Top Rank

Frank Martin has signed a multi-year promotional contract with Top Rank, with his first fight under the agreement planned for the autumn.

The 31-year-old former world title challenger is now campaigning at super-lightweight and working under head trainer Buddy McGirt. His arrival gives Top Rank another established contender at 140lbs as the company continues to build its roster under its new DAZN broadcast arrangement.

“Frank Martin has established himself as an elite talent, and the biggest opportunities of his career are still ahead of him,” said Top Rank President Todd duBoef. “The super lightweight division is filled with compelling matchups, and with Frank’s talent, he is positioned perfectly to capitalize. His future is bright as we work toward securing his ultimate world championship goal.”

Martin, a Detroit native with a record of 19-1-1 and 13 knockouts, said, “I’m excited to continue my journey under the Top Rank banner. The company has a history of building stars. I want to continue building out my resume, become champion and stamp my legacy as one of them ones in the sport.” His manager, Adrian Clark, added, “I am honored to be in a position to facilitate this deal. Frank is now backed by the iconic Top Rank, which has another superstar in the making. I’m very excited for what’s to come.”

Martin turned professional in October 2017 and became a serious lightweight contender during a strong 2022 run, stopping Romero Duno in four rounds before shutting out the then-unbeaten Michel Rivera over 10 rounds at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. He then outboxed 2016 Olympian Artem Harutyunyan in a WBC lightweight eliminator in July 2023, forcing Harutyunyan to take a knee in the 12th round before winning by unanimous decision.

The only defeat on Martin’s record came in June 2024, when Gervonta Davis knocked him out in the eighth round of their WBA Super World lightweight title fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Martin subsequently moved up to 140lbs, knocked out former world champion Rances Barthelemy in the fourth round at the MGM Grand in December 2025, and then fought to a 10-round draw with Nahir Albright at T-Mobile Arena in February.

Top Rank’s signing of Martin comes after the company made its DAZN agreement official in March at Madison Square Garden. The deal marked Top Rank’s first broadcast contract since its seven-year relationship with ESPN ended last July, with duBoef describing the DAZN arrangement as a “multi-year, multi-event commitment.”

Martin’s next step is now the announcement of his Top Rank debut. No opponent, date or venue has been confirmed, but his return at super-lightweight is expected to begin the promotional push towards another world title opportunity.
